A Fun-Filled Weekend of Legendary Rock, Blues, and so much more…
The first ever Margate Rhythm & Rock weekender takes over the whole of the historic Winter Gardens for a three-day festival of great music. This is your chance to catch some fantastic live performances from acclaimed headliners as well as great unsung talent.
Among the legends appearing at Margate Rhythm & Rock are founding Dr Feelgood guitarist, Wilko Johnson and his band on Saturday; Newcastle-based folk-rock hit-makers, Lindisfarne (Friday); and ‘Come Up & See Me’, Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, who close proceedings on Sunday.
Other classic acts include Dutch megastars Focus (‘Sylvia’, ‘Hocus Pocus’, etc); Folk-Punksters, The Men They Couldn’t Hang; and, on the 40th Anniversary of their hits, ‘Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick’, ‘What a Waste’, and ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’, The Blockheads.
As the stages are indoors, bad weather cannot stop play, and the sound quality should be great. There will be no off-limits ‘luxury’ areas and no annoying sponsors. But we are planning plenty of real ales and ciders, oodles of great food, festival traders, and plenty of fun stuff.
Come and join us beside the seaside for the UK’s friendliest music festival.
